In partnership with Raiffeisenbank Hrvatska, the Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ), and Biomass Group, we are jointly investing in a sustainable future and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. This initiative is a strong reflection of our commitment to sustainability principles (ESG) - responsible business practices that protect the environment, enhance social welfare, and promote transparency.
A total donation of EUR 340.000 will, over the course of this and next year, enable the construction of a state-of-the-art solar power plant at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre and the installation of solar systems on all SOS homes within the village. This will generate significant long-term energy cost savings, allowing more resources to be directed towards the direct care and support of children.
Through this initiative, SOS Children’s Village Lekenik will become the first fully solar-powered village in Croatia, serving as a practical example of sustainable development and community unity—fully aligned with Kufner Group’s vision of responsible and sustainable business.
Slaven Kufner, CEO of the Kufner Group, stated: "The Kufner Group’s donation is not only an investment in renewable energy sources, but also an investment in the community in which we live and work—by caring for the youngest among us. It is an investment in a better world and in real changes that leave a lasting impact."
Together, we are building a children’s village powered by the sun and the strength of community.
