The Kufner Group embarks on a process to achieve compliance with new requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) was officially transposed into Croatian legislation in July 2024 through amendments to the Accounting Act. This set a clear regulatory framework and obligations for companies to report transparently on the significant impact of their activities as well as risks and opportunities related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability factors.

Under the CSRD, companies are required to apply European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), providing for the consistency, comparability and reliability of data in their sustainability reports.

In order to ensure quality preparation and effective compliance with the new regulatory requirements, the Kufner Group organised an introductory workshop in cooperation with consultants Princi Consulting & Partners. The workshop was attended by managers and key stakeholders responsible for individual business segments within the Kufner Group (ESG team).

During the workshop they:

  • were acquainted with the regulatory framework for the preparation of the Sustainability Report (CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, etc.);
  • considered the key material topics to be addressed in the first Sustainability Report of the Kufner Group in 2026 for the reporting year 2025;
  • defined further steps to be taken in order to create a Sustainability Strategy and related policies, action plans and goals (KPI)

Through this initiative, the Kufner Group, whose key business segments include:

  • extraction of mineral resources and production of stone materials,
  • railway infrastructure construction and maintenance and
  • production of insulation materials,

will align its operations with new regulatory requirements while also reinforcing the long-term value and sustainability of its business while also creating additional value for shareholders, business partners and employees.

We look forward to future collaboration on the project!
